Almost one year has passed since then. Last year, 2011/Mar/11th, It had a mega earthquake in Japan.
Hong Kong Jiu-Jitsu would like to show our deepest sympathy to the lives lost.
I'd like to do something for them. And I also want to make a Charity One Match Fighting & Sparring Session this year. We welcome everyone to this event. And the all fee of the match or session will be given to the Japan earthquake victims as donation.

A local Japaneses expat group has been playing dixieland jazz with the experience of five appearances at Fringe Club.

"HK Mamas With Love" is comprised of a group of Hong Kong moms who have amassed literally a TON of critical clothing, feeding, grooming and personal hygiene items and are working to send them directly to those mothers and babies affected by the Japan earthquake and tsunami. So far they have sent over 700kg of items which have been distributed to the heart of the needy areas. They need to raise HK$100,000 in order to send the remaining items to Iwate Prefectural Government.

被害拡大の様子は香港でも連日報道されており、その事実に旨を痛めていましたが、少しでも復興のお役に立ちたい、日本の為に何かをしたいという気持ちから、この度「沖縄県人うりずんの会」を始め多くの方々のご協力により、日本復興支援の為の「ゆいまーるチャリティバザー」を開催する事になりました。
このバザーの売上から、義援金として被災地へ送り支援したいと思います。
是非、この度の趣旨をご理解いただき、ご協力賜りますようお願い致します。

Would you like to join us in this project and support the orphans of this disaster?
津波と地震によって両親を亡くした子供たちを、私たちにできる形でサポートしていきませんか？

My name is Miyu, and I am a 16 year old student, who currently lives in Hong Kong. I still remember that shocking moment when my siblings and I had seen the disastrous tsunami on television, washing away the homes of innocent people. Not only did we feel sad, but we also felt anxious, thinking about what the children involved were going through. Soon enough, we were informed that more than a hundred children were confirmed orphans, having lost their parents in the disaster. We could not bear the thought of that happening to ourselves, and decided to brainstorm ways in which we could take action to help children, like us, in the best way we could. We came up with the idea of making bracelets, with the words, "Ganbare Japan, Don't Give Up." Please join us to send across this message, and support the orphans who need our help.

To support these orphans in Japan, I would like to gather a team of willing peers (oldest being high school students), to run a series of events independently by ourselves. With the aim of supporting orphans of the disaster, I researched into different organizations, which will allow us to contribute in providing support for these children. I finally decided to choose the organization, "Ashinaga", to donate all of the money we will raise.“Ashinaga” is a well-established organization, which supports orphans until they reach adulthood. It is guaranteed that your donation will be used to support the victims of this disaster.

こんにちは。私は香港に住む１６歳の高校生で、三人姉弟妹の長女の美優です。テレビで見た地震と津波の映像はあまりにもショッキングで、私たちの目に焼き付いて離れません。悲しい気持ちになるだけではなく、被災地の子供たちのことを考えると、心がとても痛くなります。両親を亡くした災害孤児の数が、確認されただけでも概に百人を超えたことがわかり、これがもし自分たち姉弟妹の身の上に起こっていたらと思うと、いても立ってもいられず、私たちに何かできることは無いかと考え始めました。そして姉弟妹で考えた結果、『Ganbare Japan Don't Give Up』と書いたブレスレットを通して募金活動をすることにしました。皆さんどうか私たちと一緒にこの活動に参加してください。

この活動は、子供たちが子供たちのためにすることに意味があります。この考えに賛同してくれる高校生以下の幅広い年齢層の子供たちが集まって、企画から運営まですべて自分たちの手による義援活動を行いたいと思います。募金先としていくつかの団体をリサーチした結果、『あしなが育英会』を選びました。あしなが育英会では目的別募金が徹底していて、集めたお金は必ず孤児のために使わられ、震災孤児が大人になるまで長期にわたって経済的／精神的サポートすることが約束されているからです。

Minami-Soma City in Fukushima has been hit huge damage by earthquake, tsunami, nuclear accident and harmful rumors.
A lot of elementary and junior high school children has lost their lives or moved out from the city, but there are still 2000 children in the city.
Actually Minami-Soma has been divided to 3 zones; 20km(evacuation zone), 30km(voluntary evacuation zone), and other(no indication zone). People in the 30km and other zones doesn't receive enough supplies because transportation is messed up and city is not functioning.
Last week, school has started for the 2000 children, but they are not allowed to do any activities outdoors. At the very least, we would hope to give them enough study environment indoor....

福島県南相馬市では、文房具を必要としています。

南相馬市は、地震、津波、原発事故、それに伴う風評被害と四重苦にあっており、市民生活もままならないものとなっています。
震災前は６千人以上いた児童・生徒も地震・津波で命が失われたり、行方不明となったり、
また多くは原発事故で市外や県外に避難し現在は2千20人の小中学生となっています。

県外に転校した児童は、福島県から来たということだけで、
放射能がうつるとか、クラスでの席の両隣が空席にされたりなど、
子供たちにも風評被害が押し寄せ、大きな社会問題となっています。

南相馬市の３分の１が避難区域（主に小高区）、
また３分の１が緊急時避難準備区域（主に原町区）、
残り３分の１（主に鹿島区）が制限なしの区域と
国の指示により市内が３つに分断されました。

市内にある22の小中学校は、制限のない鹿島区の４つの学校と
３つの集会施設・体育館で今月22日から再開しています。
廊下や体育館に机を並べて授業を受け、
もちろん校庭での活動は禁止されています。

そこで、我々は子供たちにだけはまともな環境で授業を受けさせたいという思いから
市内にある、『（株）プリント・ネットそうま』さんでは、学用品の支援を呼び掛け、学校に届けています。
（現在南相馬市と相馬市の学校へ支援しています。）

運動着（トレーナー）などもなく、普段着で活動しているそうです。
文房具以外でも不足しているものは結構あるようなのですが
みなさんに負担のかからない文房具でということでお願いしているそうです。
無理のない範囲でお願いできればと思います。
鉛筆・消しゴム・定規など・・・（できれば新品で）
また、絵や手紙も添えてあるのはとても元気づけられますとのこと。

Let's give our "Love" to Japan and cheer up those affected by the earthquake, tsunami, and radiation through our charity dance event! Let's create a big "Love" with our friends in Japan together!

This event is organized by the Hong Kong and Japan Salsa Community and the donations will be used to help those affected by the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. We will also have Hong Kong Red Cross as a bene...ficiary organization.

"Overwhelmed by the devastation of earthquake and tsunami and the fear of radiation from the nuclear power, the life of Japanese people had just changed since 11th March 2011. Not to mention those who are living in evacuation camps, there are many others living near the nuclear power and not having any other choice but to stay at home to avoid the exposure to radiation.

After the devastation, we have received a number of “words of care and encouragement” from many of our overseas friends, which made enabled us stay strong. We didn't know how to express our gratitude for those friends, and started to think that “It’s in our turn to encourage and support those suffered by the disaster, and we should do something that only we can do”.

That's why we determined to organize a charity dance event. We love dancing and it always cheers us up. So we thought "Dance Lovers", whether you live in Hong Kong or Japan, could cheer up those suffered by the disaster leveraging on the power of dance.

We truly wish the success of the event and hope HK and Japanese dance lovers will strengthen their friendship and cohesion!"

On March 11th, 2011, the Tohuku Earthquake (magnitude 9.0) struck the northern part of Japan. The massive earthquake caused a tsunami which devastated much of the northern Pacific coast of Japan. The disaster caused significant loss of life that has not been fully measured. By April 2nd, tens of thousands of people lost their homes and remain in shelters, and the latest count left 11,800 dead and 15,540 missing.
In the aftermath of the disaster, Asako Watanabe, a Japanese-born Soprano singer, who came to seek shelter in Hong Kong, decided to organise « Sing for Japan »; a Charity Concert to raise funds for the country, with the support of a group of empathic Hong Kong residents.
The Concert will feature Asako Watanabe, Makiko Ogura, Katsuhiko Nakashima, three outstanding Japanese singers and a brilliant pianist Keisuke Tsushima, with the support of Maestro Lu Xiao Yi, from the Nanjing Philharmonic Orchestra.

100% of profits raised will go to the organisations such as Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS), Ashinaga, and Central Community Chest of Japan (CCCJ) for helping victims of the earthquake.
This is not to be missed!

Hong Kong Bankers Rock for Japan

Fund Raising Concert for Victims of the Earthquake and Tsunami

Hong Kong, April 1, 2011 – A group of Hong Kong’s senior investment bankers are holding a charity rock concert on April 14 to raise funds for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. All monies will be donated to the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

The “Concert for Japan” will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel at 7.00pm with a line-up that includes 11-year old Japanese rock guitar player, Yuto Miyazawa, who was named the world’s youngest professional guitarist in 2008. Live entertainment on the night will include Japanese dancers and musicians with Yuto headlining the event. Bands include Reorientate, The London Souls, Corey Tam, Go Commando, Helter Skelter and many guests.

“The devastation from the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami that hit Japan on March 11th is unimaginable,” said Steve Bernstein, CEO of Oppenheimer Investments, Asia, one of the leading organisers of the event. “The cost to human life is immense. Rebuilding will take years, but the effects of the tragedy will remain long after.

“I have lived and worked in Japan and still have many friends there. My heart goes out to the people who have lost their loved ones, their homes and their livelihoods. There are many people in Hong Kong who are in a position to help by making a financial contribution.”

Jim Olsson, Director, Prime Services, Barclays Capital and local musician added, “Japan is dealing with a tragedy of enormous proportions. I am delighted to be able to help put together a line-up of great musicians for a charity concert. We are reaching out to the Hong Kong community in the hope that they will join us for a great evening and be prepared to dig deep for such a worthwhile cause.”

The event will include both a live auction and a raffle. One item that is sure to raise the bidding stakes is a private concert with Yuto which might be for either a personal or corporate event.

The many other items to be auctioned include one of Pele’s jerseys – signed and framed – dinner for two at the Kee Club; dinner for two at Alfie’s by Kee in the Prince’s Building; a custom-tailored suit from Raja Fashions; and a signed, framed photograph of Muhammad Ali.

DANCE FOR JAPAN Fundraising Gala Performance

In response to the founder of the Youth Ballet of Asia and the former principal dancer of the Hong Kong Ballet So Hon-wah's call for a fundraising performance to help the victims at the recent Japan earthquake and tsunami, a group of devoted dancers put together a performance in a week's time. The show will be held on Tuesday, 5 April at 7:30 p.m. at Y-Theatre, Youth Square on 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan. Hong Kong Red Cross is the beneficiary organization of the show. All proceeds, kindly audited by W K Leung & Co. Certified Public Accountants, will go to Japanese Red Cross Society via Hong Kong Red Cross.

The event has received enthusiastic response from more than 30 dancers in different categories, they are Jessica Burrows, Chan Yi Jing, Izak David Claase, Yuh Egami, Ayako Fujioka, Helga Fung Hiu Ka, Kenji Hidaka, Ricky Hu, Yvette Huang, Eric Huynh, Kostyantyn Keshyshev, Aurora Kwong, Allen Lam, Icey Lam Yan Tin, Peggy Lam, Lam Po, Catherine Lau, Leong Heng Un, Li Jia-bo, Li Lin, Li Ming, Li Yong-jing, Liu Miao-miao, Liu Yu-yao, Irene Lo, Michael Lopez, Jennifer Mok, Eriko Ochiai, Jae-eun Park, Noel Pong, Ami Sakachi, Mike Wang, Dominic Wong, Emmy Wong Sze Ling, Sarah Yeung and Naomi Yuzawa.

There will also works by Michael Lopez, Shen Pei-qi and Nils Christe and a commissioned programme, choreographed by Ricky Hu and Yuh Egami, which will be performed by most of the dancers participated in this event.

Jackie Chan Invites Asian Stars to Do Charity Concert for Japan!

WNCNews – March 28, 2011 – Assistances to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan still continue to arrive from various parties. Action star Jackie Chan also wants to help the victims by inviting Asian stars to hold a charity concert.

Jackie Chan had managed to gather a dozen celebrities to join, including pop star Shirley Kwan and Chinese-American rapper, Jin. They recorded a song for a theme song in the charity event.

The song is titled ‘Not Succumb to Sorrow’. Lyrics of the song inspired by the famous poem from Japan.

As reported by the Associated Press on Monday (3/28), the concert will be held in Victoria Park, Hong Kong on April 1, 2011. In a message to Japanese people, Jackie Chan said, “You will not be alone. We will always be by your side.”

ジャッキー・チェンらが発起人となって企画された香港での東北関東大震災復興イベント「愛に国境はない311キャンドルナイト」の開催が明日に迫った。ジャッキーらの呼びかけによって日本、韓国や中華圏から多くのスターが参加する予定だ。騰訊網は日本からの参加予定とされる芸能人について紹介した。

記事は、日本からはＡＫＢ48メンバーの前田亜美、梅田彩佳、松井咲子や中村雅俊、千昌夫が参加する予定であることを伝えた。また、日本で活動する香港人のアグネス・チャンも、同じく日本で活動する台湾出身のジュディ・オングとともに司会としてイベントを盛り上げるという。また、1984年に香港でコンサートを行なって以来中華圏でも知名度の高い近藤真彦はイベントのためにビデオメッセージを用意、当日会場で放映されるという。

このほか、韓国からはワンダーガールズが四川大地震発生時に制作した『Ｉ　Ｌｏｖｅ　Ａｓｉａ』を日本の被災者のために歌う予定になっており、インドネシア大地震で津波を経験したインドネシア人タレントも駆けつけることも伝えられた。

イベントは3時間にわたり、会場のヴィクトリア・パークでは2万人を収容できるよう設営が行なわれている。また、イベント中には日本語も通じる寄付用ホットラインが数多く設けられるという。

Every person who contributes HK$10 or more (small to encourage kids to dig into their piggy banks) will get their name written using chalk on one of the 2000 steps climbing Hong Kong's Twin mountains. There is nothing we would love more than to be able to put a name on ev...ery step available.
• 100% of the money raised will go to the Japan Red Cross.
• If friends or family would like to donate, collect their money and send it to us with their names and we'll mark their names (using chalk) on a step, too.

The Hong Kong Brazilian Jiujitsu Community would like to show our deepest sympathy to the lives lost in the recent Earthquake in Japan.
We (Hong Kong Jiujitsu & Kowloon Jiujitsu) will co-host a Charity Sparring Session on March 27th.

We are a group Japanese Expatriates living in Hong Kong.
We are all sharing the same feelings of immense sadness and distress after the recent disastrous 'megathrust' earthquake struck the north east coast of Japan.
On the 11th March at 2:46pm, early afternoon, a quake with a magnitude of 9.0 occurred followed by one of the largest tsunamis ever recorded causing massive destruction.
Those of us living abroad connected to this disaster are extremely frustrated we cannot share the weight and suffering of our most treasured families and do more to help all our loved ones at home tackling this situation...
We are not completely helpless though and can do a lot from here in Hong Kong to help rebuild all the beautiful lives destroyed back home.
We are all passionately involved in promoting charity activities collecting donations directed to the relief organisations currently operating in Japan.

- We are encouraging people to donate to these charities and also promoting and supporting shops, bars and restaurants operating 'donation collection box services'.

- We are providing information about the various ways you can donate to respectable charities involved, making it easier for anyone offering to help.

- We have Posters available in (5 colours, pdf format, English/Chinese/Japanese) outlining our cause, Logos (5 colours, pdf&jpg format), and approx 5000 + 8000 Stickers (5 colours) encouraging involvement and contributions by people and companies.

On March 11th, at 2:46pm, Japan was struck with a 9.0-magnitude megathrust earthquake that occurred off the northeast coast.
Farmland that produced rice, vegetables, fruit, as well as the coastal areas abundant with seafood have been destroyed by the ensuing tsunami waves, not to mention all the tranquil towns and villages and the beautiful countryside of the Tohoku area.
Aftershocks, fires, and now radiation is what the population has to deal with. The more we hear and see on the news of the grim reality in Japan is shocking and sad.
For those of us who are away from Japan, instead of just feeling sorry and sad, why don't we try to pitch in our efforts and help manifest a beautiful, and healthy Japan?
The Japanese expatriates in Hong Kong are setting up a charity donation collection for rebuilding Japan.
Please contribute and put one of our donation boxes at your office or shop.
