Dance For Japan! Ballet Performance Charity

DANCE FOR JAPAN Fundraising Gala Performance

In response to the founder of the Youth Ballet of Asia and the former principal dancer of the Hong Kong Ballet So Hon-wah's call for a fundraising performance to help the victims at the recent Japan earthquake and tsunami, a group of devoted dancers put together a performance in a week's time. The show will be held on Tuesday, 5 April at 7:30 p.m. at Y-Theatre, Youth Square on 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan. Hong Kong Red Cross is the beneficiary organization of the show. All proceeds, kindly audited by W K Leung & Co. Certified Public Accountants, will go to Japanese Red Cross Society via Hong Kong Red Cross.

The event has received enthusiastic response from more than 30 dancers in different categories, they are Jessica Burrows, Chan Yi Jing, Izak David Claase, Yuh Egami, Ayako Fujioka, Helga Fung Hiu Ka, Kenji Hidaka, Ricky Hu, Yvette Huang, Eric Huynh, Kostyantyn Keshyshev, Aurora Kwong, Allen Lam, Icey Lam Yan Tin, Peggy Lam, Lam Po, Catherine Lau, Leong Heng Un, Li Jia-bo, Li Lin, Li Ming, Li Yong-jing, Liu Miao-miao, Liu Yu-yao, Irene Lo, Michael Lopez, Jennifer Mok, Eriko Ochiai, Jae-eun Park, Noel Pong, Ami Sakachi, Mike Wang, Dominic Wong, Emmy Wong Sze Ling, Sarah Yeung and Naomi Yuzawa.

Programmes, to name a few, include Allen Lam's Libertango, with pianists Verna Yeung and Stephen Xavier play 4-hand for piano. Also, there are premiere of an excerpt from Off Screen by Noel Pong which would be shown later in the month; solo piece of Francis Leung's Lonely Ridge as well as excerpts from Marius Petipa's Le Coursaire and La Esmeralda; Duets of Miwa Horikawa's Ameno, Carlo A C Pacis' Beatles on Strings and also excerpts from Li Yong-jing's The Moment I Saw It and Natalie Wier's Rite of Spring. There will also works by Michael Lopez, Shen Pei-qi and Nils Christe and a commissioned programme, choreographed by Ricky Hu and Yuh Egami, which will be performed by most of the dancers participated in this event.

Tickets at $ 1000, $ 1500 and $ 2000 are available through the following ways:
Send a crossed cheque payable to “Hong Kong Red Cross” with the booking form, which is available by contacting 9124-7918 or disaster.fund.raising@gmail.com, to Youth Ballet of Asia, 2802-3 Kingsfield Centre, 18 Shell Street, North Point and tickets will be sent in due course.
-Whoever deposit or transfer directly to "Hong Kong Red Cross" HSBC Account #002-205490-006 or make an online donation to "Hong Kong Red Cross" and email the original receipt, or online donation confirmation slip with the booking form to disaster.fund.raising@gmail.com for ticket allocation.
